Read all about it! One of our fantastic sign2ing schools has made the news. The children of Ladypool School in Birmingham have been featured signing and singing on the ITV website. The item also includes a special video of their performance by Michael Scott, volunteer photographer for West Midlands Fire Service.
The children learned to sing and sign the song with our sign2sing ambassador Nicky Maloney. They were joined by members of Highgate Red Watch at West Midlands Fire Service, who were taught the song by Watch Commander Alan Swift. They have learned sign language to help them when when working with the deaf community. Alan and his colleagues Joe and Adrian recently appeared in special Christmas video for sign2sing.
Headteacher Mrs Huda Ali Aslam said:
We’re so excited to be taking part. It’s a fantastic way for children to learn how important communication is while having fun mastering a little sign language raising money to help improve the health of deaf people.
Ladypool did a great job
It was fabulous to be part of your special sign2sing event and to see the enthusiasm and wonderful signing of the pupils at Ladypool together with the firefighters – you are all super signers. Well done to all the pupils and staff – what a memorable day it was!
